The Cycle of Poverty

It’s often said that money makes the world go round, and for many in our community, its absence creates a constant struggle. We live in an area where ethnic minorities are disproportionately impacted by poverty, making it a familiar hardship for many families.

That’s why we prioritize equipping young people from ethnic minority backgrounds with the tools they need to break this cycle. By helping them secure employment or training opportunities, we empower them to build a brighter future for themselves.

London’s Youth Unemployment Challenge

According to a recent report (Source), the youth unemployment rate (16-24) in London for the three months ending July 2023 rose from 14.1% to 15.5%. This represents a significant increase of 3.2 percentage points compared to pre-pandemic levels, translating to a staggering 64,253 young Londoners out of work.

These figures are even more concerning when contrasted with the national youth unemployment rate for the same period, which stood at a lower 10.5%.

Taking Action

By addressing youth unemployment within our community, we can create a ripple effect of positive change. We are committed to providing resources and support to help these young people find their path to success.
